    Administrative history

    The Agricultural Extension Branch was established in 1959 when the Agricultural Extension Service changed its name. It became the Extension Branch of the Extension and Colleges Division in 1966. It disbanded in 1967.

    Administrative history

    The 4-H Branch was formed in 1976 when the program area was transferred back to the Ministry of Agriculture. The program area has been in the Department of Recreation, Parks and Wildlife for one year (1975-76) and previously a part of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Recreation. The branch was transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development in 1992.

    Administrative history

    When the Ministry of Youth was established in 1966, the 4-H program was transferred from the Agricultural Extension Branch of Agriculture, and the Junior Wardens program was transferred from the Forestry Training Branch of Lands and Forests. Initially managed by separate branches, the programs were merged under a single branch by 1967. The Branch disbanded with the Ministry in 1971.
