Biographical history
A.S. Thomson was employed as a surveyor under A. O. Wheeler, a Commissioner for British Columbia on the Inter-provincial Boundary Commission that was organized by the federal government of Canada to determine the boundary between Alberta and British Columbia.
Custodial history
Mrs. Esther Fraser deposited these records in the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1973 on behalf of Mr. A.S. Thompson. Mrs. Fraser’s relationship with Mr. A. S. Thomson is unknown.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of copies of photographs taken by A. S. Thomson while working as a surveyor on the Inter-provincial Boundary Commission dating circa (ca.) 1913-1921 and includes rafts, packhorses, mountains, ice fields, surveyors and surveying camps and equipment.
