            The fonds consists of records, the majority of which are from the 1970s to the 1990s, that consist of minutes, reports, correspondence, petitions, annual financial statements, and press releases created by the Edmonton Peace Council. There are also newsletters, bulletins, and circulars created by the Canadian Peace Congress, the World Peace Council, and other peace organizations such as the Soviet Peace Council, the Canadian Peace Alliance, the Edmonton Peace Network, and many others.

            In addition to literature related to the peace movement, there is also literature related to anti-imperialism, feminism, and other social movements of the second half of the twentieth century.

            The audiovisual records consist of audio recordings of conferences and lectures either hosted or attended by the EPC and educational films on topics related to the peace movement.

            The fonds consists of electronic and paper correspondence, news articles, lectures, songbooks, “un-conference” materials, and photographs. Also included are scrapbooks with photographs, newspaper clippings, event programs and thank you cards documenting the Edmonton Raging Grannies and the personal lives of its members. Materials provide information on the activities of the Alberta Raging Grannies and give context to the wider protest community and history of Alberta.

            The fonds also includes records from the Edmontonians for a non-nuclear future organization and two original political cartoons that were published in the Edmonton Journal.

            Fonds consists of the records of Edmonton Tools for Peace, and records pertaining to various peace organizations affiliated with Edmonton Tools for Peace.             The records present many of Jean Rogers’ personal interests and activism and include collected records from the Raging Grannies in Edmonton and from across Canada (and outside Canada, occasionally). These records are mixed with Rogers’ personal records as Rogers’ personal life and activism was informed by and informed her work with the Raging Grannies.

            The textual records are comprised of newspaper clippings, letters and correspondence with activists and political figures, notes and minutes, pamphlets, Raging Grannies song books, several cookbooks and recipes with personal notes, and reports. Rogers created many pamphlets with news articles and slogans to hand out and some of the originals of those are included in the records. Also included are newsletters and correspondence from the National Party of Canada, a political party that Rogers was a supporter of.

            The records also contain photographs, including in some photo albums. These depict the Edmonton Raging Grannies at several protests and social events, but also depict Jean Rogers and friends at small gatherings. These photos almost all include written labels on the backs.

            The audiocassettes contain recordings of varied speeches, interviews, and programs. These include CBC Radio programs that Rogers recorded, interviews with Rogers or other Raging Grannies members, and speeches that Rogers attended. They record much of Rogers’ interests and activities. The first videocassette includes a CBC interview and story about the Raging Grannies and healthcare. The second contains a film about the Raging Grannies.

            The fonds consists of directories of environmental organizations in Alberta that pre-date the existence of KOA, solar project proposals for First Nations communities including Beaver Lake Cree Nation and Sucker Creek First Nation, a report on the Lower Athabasca Regional Plan, Community Environment Action Grant planning documents, documents from the Indigenous Climate Action meeting, incorporation documents, workshop evaluations, meeting minutes, conference files, and assorted project files including the Frontier Oil Sands Mine Project and Tailings Management Framework.

The remainder of records consist of reports related to campaigns and publications (e.g. pamphlets, brochures, and copies of the Prairie Sierran newsletter).

The records document the organization’s activities developing educational resources, lobbying the municipal, provincial and federal governments for stricter anti-pollution laws, and raising funds to implement their agenda. The records include correspondence, press releases, minutes, reports, financial records and promotional materials.

            The fonds consists of a nearly complete documentary record of the history of the Edmonton VANA branch and includes meeting agendas and minutes, correspondence, membership rosters, committee records, conference and seminar files, posters, pamphlets, press releases, speaking notes, and resolutions.

            There are also records related to specific actions, protests, and rallies related to the Persian Gulf War, Hiroshima Memorial Day, Auschwitz Memorial Day, and Hands Across the Border.

            There is also a complete run of The VANA Courier, as well as newsletters from other VANA branches and the central office. In addition to VANA publications, there are also magazines, newsletters, and pamphlets from like-minded organizations, among them the Fraser Valley Peace Letter; Saskatchewan Peace News; Peace, Environment, and Third World Development Network News; Socialist Voice; and Ploughshares Monitor.

            The photos and slides depict Edmonton VANA events, rallies, and conferences as well as trips to national and international events in Ottawa and the Soviet Union, among others.

            The audiocassettes contain recorded remarks and presentations from a 1988 national VANA conference entitled Peacemaking and Peacekeeping: Canada and the United Nations held at Dalhousie University, Halifax.
