            The fonds consists of three record-types: records created by Frame 30 in the course of the production of The Greatest Auto Race on Earth, original material collected by Frame 30 to be used for research and/or on-screen appearances in The Greatest Auto Race on Earth, and records created by Frame 30 Productions for other projects.

            The records created during the course of production for The Greatest Auto Race on Earth are arranged in binders by topic and is essentially a compendium of information about race participants and details culled from various resources. The binders also contain correspondence, scripts, transcripts of interviews, and production notes.

            The research material consists of contemporaneous newspapers and advertisements that covered or referenced the 1908 race. The newspapers include publications from London, Rochester, Des Moines, and Paris. There are also monographs, bound volumes, and pamphlets about the 1908 race and related topics.

            The fonds also consists of photographs that document the 1908 race from its start in New York to its finish in Paris, with the entire westward-route across the United States, Asia, Russia, and Europe also shown.

            The remainder of the fonds consists of records created by Frame 30 Productions during the course of its business. The textual records consist mostly of job files for specific projects undertaken by Frame 30. The job files include contracts, scripts, correspondence, shooting schedules, and storyboards. The job files directly correspond to the selected audiovisual records. There are also some correspondence files and files related to membership in the Alberta Motion Picture Industry Association.

            The audiovisual records are masters, viewing copies, and/or preservation copies of projects completed by Frame 30. These include commercials for a wide variety of Albertan and western Canadian companies and corporate films, both those intended for internal use (such as training films) and external use (such as promotional films).

            The fonds consists of off-air recordings that Mike Goetze made of programming on CFCW which he found to be of particular interest on both a personal and professional level. Some of the material was not taped off-air but compiled by Goetze to be used in future broadcasts or for personal research. The fonds consists of the following series: Specials series; News Programming series; Miscellaneous People Programming series; Advertising series; Chester Ronning series, and: Background Information series. Goetze arranged the majority of these records in series as he was preparing to move the records when they came into the custody of the Provincial Archives of Alberta. This original arrangement has been retained wherever possible.

            The fonds consists of complete and incomplete films, along with film elements, regarding a variety of promotional, documentary and educational films created by Tustian Film Productions. The fonds also includes textual records, specifically production files and information about and photographs of Jim Tustian. The film and video material in PR2012.0888 consists of promotional material for Northwest Industries, Paragon Panel Systems, the Canadian Hereford Organization (entitled Beef for the World), and Belvedere Developments; commercials for Calgary-based automotive business National Transmission; concert footage of singer Bobby Curtola; a promotional video for Quickdial, a hotel service designed to help raise funds for arts in Alberta; an ergonomic video entitled Top to Toe – Workstation Workout; and political material focusing on former Speaker of the Legislature Ken Kowalski (Kowalski Tributes and God’s Country), the presentation of a new mace by Lieutenant Governor Bud Olsen, and a Social Credit film featuring former premier Harry Strom (Alberta Together!). The material consists of complete masters when available or the original camera tapes when edited masters were not provided.

            The records in PR2015.0782 consist of production files for several of the productions that are represented in the audiovisual records in this donation. The files include shooting scripts, correspondence, and budgets.

            The audiovisual records are masters of film, television, and radio productions produced by Tustian Film Productions including industrial films for Northwest Industries, Paragon Panel, and Initial Security; municipal and provincial government productions for agencies including the City of Lethbridge, Alberta Agriculture, and Travel Alberta; commercials for companies such as Kodak, Alberta Treasury Branch, car dealerships, and restaurants; and documentary projects on the Edmonton Polar Ski Club and former Speaker of the Assembly Ken Kowalski.

            The photographs and negatives were taken by Jim Tustian and include imagery of events and sites around the province. The subject matter is similar to the related fonds Thunderbird Photographers but it is unclear if these photographs were created under that company or as part of Tustian Film Productions, considering both were at one time owned and operated by Jim Tustian.
