Biographical history
Alan Dakin was an Environmental Studies undergraduate student and Architecture graduate student at the University of Manitoba in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He worked in the Ministry of Sustainable Development, Province of Manitoba, notably managing the province’s geo-spatial information systems related to conservation and water stewardship.
Custodial history
The records were created and maintained by Alan Dakin until donated to the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 2015.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of an undergraduate thesis written by Alan Dakin entitled A Study of Log Construction in the Vicinity of Carrot Creek, Alberta. The thesis contains three binders featuring photographs of log constructions with detailed descriptions of building techniques as well as the names of the builders and dates of construction.
