The fonds consists of the records created by both the Civil Service Association and the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees from the inception of the CSA in 1919 to its present day incarnation. The fonds is made up of minutes of meetings, bulletins, labour relations files, negotiations, classification appeals, and affiliations relating to the running of AUPE as a whole and to individual branch operations. The fonds also contains material relating to constitutional matters and by-laws, administration, membership services, committees, publicity and annual conventions of both the CSA and AUPE. The fonds is divided into the Civil Service Association sous-fonds and the following series: labour relations; classification appeals; negotiations; CSA material and; public affairs.

There are also scrapbooks containing clippings related to AUPE activities throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including scrapbooks devoted to the Health Care Employees Union of Alberta, a union that briefly splintered from AUPE in the 1980s before reintegrating back into AUPE. There is also a 1918 copy of the Constitution and Guidelines of the Brotherhood of Dominion Express Employees.

The photographs and negatives included in the scrapbooks depict events such as AUPE training sessions, demonstrations, bargaining and arbitration sessions, staff members, and conventions. There is also a framed portrait of W.T. Aiken, the first president of the Civil Service Association of Alberta, the predecessor organization to AUPE.

The fonds consists of the records of Allan Warrack created and received during his term as the Minister of Lands and Forests. The records include correspondence with other cabinet ministers, MLAs, and the general public as well as files pertaining to committees and associations related to his role.

The fonds consists of a passport issued to Sifton on 17 May, 1916 and renewed on 17 May, 1920. Sifton held this passport during the final years of his tenure as Premier of Alberta. He used the passport to travel to Versailles, France as a member of the Canadian Delegation to the Paris Peace Conference, where the Treaty of Versailles was signed to end the state of war between Germany and the Allied Powers of the First World War.

The series consists of the records created and received by the Assistant Deputy Minister of Property Services pertaining to operations in that business unit.

The series consists of records related to the personnel of the Department of the Attorney General. The files include organizational charts, pay plans, staff statistics ledgers, salary positions registers and payroll registers.

The collection consists of copied photographs dating 1927-1955 that depict various people, buildings and views in Barrhead, Alberta including Carl Johnson’s Central Meat Market, Hooper’s Garage, the Bank of Toronto, nuns, the United church and St. John’s Lutheran church, an Alberta Jubilee parade, street views, cars, the first train in Barrhead, and a hospital built by Doctor (Dr.) E.J. Varreau.

Fonds also includes information about the Government of Alberta 75th Anniversary Commission, a list of members on the Camrose 75th Anniversary Committee, and supplied explanations by the Committee about some of the activities undertaken by the Committee.

The fonds consists of a pamphlet entitled "The Alberta Hunger March and the Trial of the Victim's of Brownlie's Police Terror" created by the Hunger March Defense Committee of the Canadian Labour Defense League in 1932.

The records include a plan of the subdivisions of the Marie-Reine hamlet near Nampa, Alberta.

The series consists of published and unpublished maps collected and acquired by the Oblates to document properties owned and maintained by the Church, and for reference purposes. The records were used at time of creation and in a retrospective manner. The published maps include geographical, geological and hydrographic materials. The cartographic materials cover a wide range of subjects and locales, including British North America, Canada, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories, the Arctic and Alaska. Specifically, the maps represent missions and mission claims, waterways, indigenous populations, immigration, transportation, Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) forts, sectional maps and technical surveys, cemeteries, properties, towns and communities, ceded indigenous treaties, parks and political settlements, lists of lot owners, railways, and lands for sale by the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR).

The fonds consists of records related to Cook’s dismissal from his position as Superintendent of the Inspection Services Branch. It consists of private correspondence, legal correspondence, and reports drafted in his defence.

The majority of the material was produced when Ronning passed away in Camrose late in 1984, after a lengthy illness. Chester Ronning was a well-known character in Alberta; Although he had spent a great deal of his life in China where he was born to missionary parents, Chester considered Alberta his adopted home. Over the years of his life Ronning was well-known for many roles, that of author, missionary, educator, politician, diplomat and storyteller.

The fonds consists of material Colleen Klein created during Ralph Klein's tenure as Premier of Alberta. The fonds includes correspondence related to charity organizations Colleen Klein supported, requests for meetings, invitations, invitations accepted, invitations regretted, and speaking notes dating from 1995 to 2006.

The collection consists of photographs of correspondence, orders-in-council, memorandum, drafts, and resolutions copied from the Library and Archives Canada related to the confederation of Canada and the provincial autonomy of Alberta.

The fonds is composed of textual records from during Coutts’ time in office working as an MLA. The records include letters to and from David Coutts, both in correspondence with citizens and other government employees. Coutts’ agendas and planners are also included, in which he kept track of his daily meetings and responsibilities. All planners prior to 2006 were kept in physical notebooks, while the 2007 planner was solely kept digitally (this donation contains a printout of the digital planner).

There are also large groups of records from the committees that Coutts worked on. These include committees on issues and legislation such as the Taskforce on NAFTA Wind Turbine Manufacturers, Crowsnest Pass Economic Development, the Natural Heritage Act, the VLT/Gaming Room Review Committee, and the Castle River Wildlands Recreational Area, among others.

The fonds consists a souvenir booklet of the Alberta Inaugural Ceremony dating from 1905 and published by the Edmonton Print and Publishing Co. Ltd.

The collection consists of a photograph of the Alberta School Trustee's Association Annual Convention dating from 1950, a photograph of the 26th Annual Convention of the Alberta Dairymen's Association dating from 1950, an invitation to the opening of the Percy Page Centre dating from 1987, a poster featuring Pilbrock, Alberta, and a poster commemorating Alberta's Golden Jubilee in 1955.

This series consists of the records created and maintained by Kevin Taft as Member of the Legislative Assembly for the electoral division of Edmonton-Riverview between 2001 and 2012.

The series contains issues of Taft’s newsletter issued to constituents, communications with ministers and city councilors on behalf of his constituency, and documents from his involvement in the South Campus Neighbourhood Coalition’s efforts to gain consultation in the proposed developments on the south campus lands of the University of Alberta.

The fonds consists of records created and maintained during Edwin LeRoy Fjordbotten's tenure as Minster of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development from 1982 to 1985 and departmental records from the Department Agriculture, Food and Rural Development dating from 1945 to 1974. The fonds contains ministerial correspondence with provincial, federal, and municipal constituents, associations, societies, companies and agencies; pamphlets of minutes and meetings; and reports and correspondence.

The fonds consists of audio tapes of interviews with seventeen First Nations elders who were interviewed between May and August of 1996. The interviews were conducted by Rhonda DeLorme of Alberta Aboriginal Affairs. The negatives and photographs depict the elders interviewed and there are labels printed on the backs of the photographs. Some of the elders interviewed include Josephine Crowshoe, Rita Auger, Joe Crowshoe, Ruth Bad Eagle , Tom Crane Bear, Wallace Mountain Horse, and Evelyn Thunder, among others.

In the recordings, the elders speak about their own family histories, traditions and celebrations from their home communities, and values. Several also related stories that had been shared with them and spoke of how resources from the land and animals were used in their communities. Many of the elders also spoke about their experiences while attending residential schools and other impacts that settler society had on their way of life (including world wars, treaties, and industry).

These interviews took place in the Bigstone Cree Reserve, Whitefish Lake First Nation, Loon Lake First Nation, Woodland Cree First Nation, Brocket, Siksika Nation, Dene Tha’ Reserve, Blood Reserve, and Alexis Reserve.

The fonds consists of materials created and acquired by Henry E. Spencer including a copy of "Parliament and the Party System" written by Spencer circa 1921, a copy of "A Case for the Alberta School Trustee" written by Spencer in 1942, and clippings pertaining to Spencer's political career.

Included are promotional films, campaign advertisements (radio and television), logos and slogans, tribute/retrospective films about Peter Lougheed, recordings of party conventions, conferences, meetings, speeches and rallies, and television broadcasts of current affairs programs, news specials, interviews, public announcements and documentaries.

The fonds consists of scrapbooks containing newspaper clippings, programs, invitations about the construction, opening and performances at the Alberta Jubilee Auditoriums, an Alberta Jubilee Auditoriums publication, and materials relating to Alberta's Golden Jubilee celebrations including a calendar, publications, sheet music, programs and brochures. The fonds consists of material acquired by Joe Forsyth and includes pamphlets and journals related to the Alberta Social Credit Party dating from the 1920s and 1930s; transcripts of R.B. Bennett's radio broadcasts produced by the Dominion Conservative Headquarters in the 1930s; and a transcription of Leonard W. Brockington's war-time speeches produced by the federal department of Public Education in 1941.

The fonds consists of four photographs featuring George Hedley Vicars Bulyea, Lt. Gov of Alberta from 1905 - 1915, and his wife Annie (neé Blanche Babbit) Bulyea taken between 1905-1915.

The fonds consists of records created and received by Karen Leibovici in carrying out her duties as the elected representative for the constituency of Edmonton Meadowlark. It also includes the records that reflect the functional role she played as a member of the Liberal Party Caucus. The fonds consists of the records created and maintained by Dr. Kevin Taft. These records relate to his time as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta with the Alberta Liberal Party (2001-2012) and Leader of the Opposition (2004-2008), his 2008-2012 court case regarding the conduct of the 2008 provincial election, and his opposition to the 1992 campaign against the implementation of the Youth News Network and television advertisements in Edmonton schools.

The records are composed of advertisements, newsletters, photographs, campaign strategy guides and platform books, speeches, newsletters, and correspondence. Also included are trial documents such as supporting authorities, factums, evidence extracts, statutes, transcripts of witness interrogations and cross-examinations, witness affidavits, research notes, and collected precedent case records. The fonds consists of five binders, each with a different theme such as Warawa’s family, sites around Alberta, and the 2005 Alberta centennial. Starting in 2003, Warawa travelled around Alberta and Saskatchewan extensively to photo-document the two provinces on the verge of their respective centennials. Much of this project is captured in the selected binders.

The collection consists of 95 photographs featuring Members of the Legislative Assembly, Legislative interns, Legislative Assembly pages, and Legislative Assembly security staff dating from 1905 - 1996. The fonds also contains records giving information on the Alberta Liberal Party (largely from 1985 to 1989) and the Leadership Convention in 1988 and Campaign in 1986. There are also textual records from the 1988 Campaign Manual of the Liberal Party of Canada in Alberta. These records hold minutes, policies, correspondence, and information on other activities.

Some of the the records are related to Michael Henry’s 1993 election campaign as an MLA in the Edmonton-Centre. These records consist of paid and unpaid bills, expenses, deposits, cheques, petty cash, receipts, correspondence, campaign contribution receipts, and candidate election booklets. These records document the beginning of Henry's political career, including costs associated with his campaign and the contributions he received from various donors. Some of these records contain the personal information of donors, including home addresses.

There is also a notebook labeled “Signs Requested,” used by Henry and his team during a campaign, likely created in 1997. This record contains personal notes and lists of people and addresses who requested signs.

This series consists of photographs, negatives, lantern slides and transparencies of various subjects taken in or related to the communities of the Vice-Province of Grouard. The images were created or collected by the Oblates in the course of their administrative work or personal lives, and the records often reflect their secular interests. The breadth of the subject matter is immense and unique and documents many aspects of western and northern Canada and its peoples. Subjects may include Oblates and sisters in the various communities, missions, religious events and activities.

The images show communities and activities and include local landscapes, missions, waterways, fauna, fishing, churches and buildings, indigenous people and families, transportation, hunting, fur trade, schools and students, museums, sports, industries and farming.

The subjects also focus specifically on the various communities the Oblates served in the Grouard region, including: Assumption, Dunvegan, Fort Vermilion, Grouard, and the Lesser Slave Lake and Peace River areas.

The series consists of a variety of photographs and slides predominantly taken by Jack Fitzsimmons though some may be attributed to Gladys Fitzsimmons as well. The subject matter of Jack Fitzsimmons photographs alternates from pictures of different agricultural strains of seed from his time with the University Farm, to travelogues of the many trips and vacations taken by both Jack and Gladys Fitzsimmons.
