    Biographical history

    Robert Cheshire was the son of Charles Gee (1884-1955) and Ellen Jane Cheshire (1890-1981). He was involved in the Farmers Union of Alberta as well as the National Farmers Union. He also served as terms as a a councilor in the County of St. Paul, representing Ashmont.

    The collection consists of images, originally dating 1914 to 1945, of military personnel who had lived in the Ashmont School District of Alberta.

    Immediate source of acquisition

    Robert Cheshire deposited the records and allowed others to be copied by the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1988. Originals were returned to him. Records were added to the accession by Phyllis B. Howse, secretary of the Ashmont Community School, and Robert Cheshire in 1991.
