        History

Alice Gertrude Reeve was born in Fort Chipewyan, Northwest Territories in 1886, daughter of Bishop William Day Reeve and Emily Parker. She grew up in Athabasca Landing. In 1909, she married Russell Bannerman (1880–1936) in Edmonton. Together they had two children: Kathleen (Sinclair) and Patricia (O'Hara).

The Bannermans homesteaded at the Northwest of Section 31, Township 65, Range 22, West of the 4th Meridian (31-65-22-W4). Russell owned the Colinton General Store, but after the Bannermans sold the store in 1921, they moved back to their farm.

After her husband's death, she continued to live in Athabasca until she moved to Victoria, British Columbia. She died there in 1988.
