The collection consists of transcripts of interviews with Annie and Charles Johnston recalling their life in Bowden at the beginning of the 20th century typed by Abe Sawatsky of the Bowden Historical Society in 1969.

Fonds consists of glass plate negatives by Bob Hoare of people, businesses, buildings, activities and events in Bowden, Alberta and vicinity.

The series consists of records related to the operations of the Bowden Correctional Institute. The files include correspondence, farm accounts and statistics, meetings of committee minutes, menus, visitor logs, and other records.

The fonds consists of the 1985 (chapter 2) and 1989 (chapter 3) editions of the Doherty family history From Belfast to NW16, and 1989 Centenary Souvenir programs from the reunion.

The fonds consists of notebooks in which Splinter recorded the progress of the projects he was working on; collected separate materials such as letters and plans; and noted dates, locations, and temperatures. The diaries are extremely detailed and effectively document the planning and building processes used by Public Works for various sites around Alberta, including Drumheller, Boyle, Stony Plain, Edmonton, Bowden, Thorsby, and others. There are also some sites in the Northwest Territories. Building projects include federal sites such as RCMP buildings and community projects such as gyms and sports fields.

An audiocassette accompanies the seventh volume of the notebooks and consists of Splinter elaborating on the projects documented in that notebook.

Fonds includes the business records of the Innisfail-Bowden Mutual Telephone Company and includes a memorandum of association, certificate of incorporation, subscriber lists, subscriber accounts, agreements, minutes, by-laws, financial records, Alberta Government Telephone notices, annual reports, insurance policies, telephone statistics, annual returns, line maintenance contracts, notes, an Innisfail-Bowden telephone directory, telephone service contracts, share certificate stubs, payroll registers, telephone equipment catalogues and advertising materials, and maps depicting the area served by the Innisfail-Bowden Mutual Telephone Company. Fonds also includes minutes from the Alberta Mutual Telephone Companies’ Association annual meetings.

The fonds consists of photographs and negatives that depict subjects at No. 32 Elementary Flying Training School in Bowden, Alberta during the Second World War. Many of the subjects are identified and include images of Maria Bojarczuk, her friends, and students from the flight school as well as some local residents. There are extensive images of students, events, buildings, and equipment at the flight school.
