          Fonds consists of the personal records of Carrie M. Robertson and includes a scrapbook containing records that pertain to nursing, ice skating, J.D Robertson, World War I and other subjects, and contains newspaper clippings, poems, invitations, photographic and mechanically produced postcards, greeting cards, ribbons, programmes, dance cards, and a travel map of the United States and southern Canada. The scrapbook also contains photographs that depict various people, buildings, and views in the Adirondacks and Albany New York, and Alberta, including images of nurses, women, children, Mirror Lake, Lake Placid Club, Albany Hospital and Nurses Home, and Assiniboia Hall at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta.

          The fonds also includes greeting cards, postcards, and programmes for various musical and theatrical productions, photographs depicting surveyors, bridge construction, and the hot springs at Banff, Alberta, and two engineering certificates issued to J.D. Robertson.

          The fonds consists of photographs from their time in Edmonton and includes images of construction workers, buildings under construction, the construction of the 109th street subway (later known as the “Rat Hole”), Grand Trunk Pacific workers and excavation machinery, a trestle bridge and workers, construction of a railway station in Fabyan, Alberta and construction of a building, the Donald Fraser Memorial building, which was possibly located in New Brunswick.

The postcard references the 1912 election of American President Woodrow Wilson.

          The fonds consists of the complete and detailed records kept by Stanley Spencer relating to both his homestead and his work as a Sub-Foreman for the Department of Public Works. Included in the fonds are: the Dominion Lands Entry Receipt for the homestead; tax receipts for the property from 1931-1935; instructions for activities such as tanning hides and ridding the homestead of pests; proposals for the establishment of a new School District in the area; a Farmer’s Pocket Ledger; and a detailed receipt book listing products both purchased and sold by Spencer on the farm.

          Also present in the fonds are a series of documents detailing the work that Spencer conducted as a Sub- Foreman for the Department of Public Works. Included are Time Certificates, Public Works Labour Pay Lists, and communications detailing the work completed by the small crew of labourers. The documents reveal that many of the labourers were working in order to pay off amounts owing for taxes. Work ranged from the completion of land surveys to the construction of roads and bridges. A set of full colour posters from the Workmen’s Compensation Board (circa dated 1952) included in the fonds.

          The fonds reflects Walter Lewis' involvement with the Canadian Pacific Railway Company (CPR) and consists of Canadian Pacific photographs of the last spike to complete the CPR in 1885; the arrival of the first train from Montreal to arrive in Calgary in 1886; the construction of the High Level Bridge in Edmonton in 1913; and CPR transportation services in the 1960s. The fonds also includes clippings from the Edmonton Journal pertaining to the construction of the High Level Bridge; an image of the CPR station at 109th St. and Jasper Avenue in 1922; and typewritten articles related to the operation of CPR.
