The Calgary Provincial Gaol was established in 1958. Under a provision of the Corrections Act (S.A. 1970, c. 23, s 8(2)), the name of the facility became the Calgary Correctional Centre. It was transferred to Solicitor General in 1973.

The series consists of case files of inmates incarcerated at the Calgary Correctional Centre. The case files include correspondence, warrants of committal to the facility, personal property sheets, inmate requests, reports, as well as information related to the inmate's release.
