          The collection consists of a copy of a liquor license made out to Leslie Larson from 1912, the January 20, 1936 issue of the Edmonton Journal announcing King George V's death, a membership list for the (1914) Red Chevron Club Edmonton, a typed copy of Army Order 4 - 1918, presented to the Red Chevron Club in 1938, program from Trooping the Colour in Ottawa in 1939, Pay and Allowance Regulation for the Permanent and Non-Permanent Active Militia (1937) and a photograph taken at the first exhibit of commercial livestock at the Edmonton Exhibition in 1921 (McDermid Studio print). The fonds also includes 15 glass plate negatives, of which 14 are cartoons from the First World War by Bruce Bairnsfather and one is a portrait of Bruce Bairnsfather.

          The fonds consists of the cartooning records of Stew Cameron, and includes rough sketches, ink drawings, and copies of press prints of cartoons created from his time as a student, as an employee of the Calgary Herald, the military and the Vancouver Province, and as a freelance cartoonist. The fonds also includes correspondence with parents, his wife, friends and business associates, other records relating to Stew’s life and work as well as a number of published volumes of other editorial cartoonists, some of whom influenced Stew’s work.

          The fonds consists of original editorial political and social cartoons created by Yardley-Jones throughout his career. The cartoons were drawn with ink on a regular artist’s drawing board. The cartoons illustrate and document political and social events in Alberta, Canada, and internationally from the 1960s to the 1990s.

          The fonds also includes photographs, film, sketches, drafts and clippings, research and project files, and scrapbooks that document Yardley-Jones’ business, interests, hobbies, and commitment to his communities. These records documents his career in its entirety, and serves to provide insight into his methodology, his viewpoint, his business and personal interests, the world of editorial cartoonists.

These comics include thirteen published in the Edmonton Journal and created by John Yardley-Jones and six published in the Calgary Herald and created by Tom Innes.
