    Biographical history

Charles William Campbell was born in Collingswood, Ontario in 1879. He moved to Edmonton in 1897 and started a bakery with his brother, Walter S. Campbell, in 1906. The Charles W. Campbell Bakery grew to become one of the largest in western Canada.

Campbell married Edith Adda Taylor (1880-1954) in High River, Alberta in 1906, and together they had four children: Ruth (Smith) (1907-1981), Charles (1909-1999), Joan (Golby, then Sylvester) (1914-2003), and Gordon (1915-1966).

He died in a car accident in Edmonton on September 12, 1920.
