The fonds consists of the records of Alexander John Charnetski relating to his involvement in agriculture, and includes slides of livestock, barn plans, farm equipment and pastures. The fonds also includes correspondence, reports, records, including a photograph, relating to the Agriculture Officers Orientation conducted by the Canadian Civil Defense College, and yearbooks of the Olds School of Agriculture and the Vermilion School of Agriculture.

The fonds is composed of photographs of radio equipment, radio equipment handbooks, a warranty policy, and a Distant Early Warning Line (DEW Line) workbook. The photographs were all originally taken in 1946 and are of various pieces of radio equipment and facilities that were used by companies such as City of Calgary Electric and Grey Line Taxi of Edmonton. These pictures represent an interest and the vocations of Gilbertson, much like the other records described below.

The textual records include service manuals that were collected by Gilbertson and were used for equipment that was used in the land mobile radio business (though rendered obsolete by 1990, when the records were donated). Also included is a workbook used by Gilbertson during electronic training in preparation for his posting along the DEW Line. This workbook contains schematic diagrams of electronic units that would be in place in a radar station and has been heavily annotated in pencil by Gilbertson.

The fonds consists of photographs of the civil defence exercises at Ponoka’s 50th anniversary, including doctors, dentists, nurses, practice rescues and emergencies, a Muttart newsletter and a photocopy of L.G. Sitters work record.

The fonds consists of the records of the Casualties Union Study Circle No. 228 Edmonton and includes log notes, Study Circle instructions, casualty simulation instructions, correspondence, and newspaper clippings.

The series consists of records related to civil defense and disaster planning activities undertaken by the Government of Alberta. The records include correspondence, minutes of meetings with federal as well as regional and local officials, reports, conference proceedings and papers, speeches, legislation, publications, and other related records. The files include departmental plans, a fallout shelter survey, studies regarding radioactivity and nuclear war survival plans, and publicity materials regarding displays, press releases, newsletters, and planning guides.

The fonds reflects Eva's educational activities. The fonds consists of course notes, certificate of completion, and several publications pertaining to a summer school session attended by Eva from July 6 to July 31, 1959 entitled, "Alberta Civil Defense Summer School Training for Teachers, Course No. 125."

This collection consists of records providing information on atomic weapons, maintenance of radiation detection instruments, effects of atomic bombs, contamination by fallout from nuclear weapons and a radiation dosage calculator. The records document George Henry Martin's interest in military defence.

The fonds consists of by-laws, certificate of incorporation, minutes, and agendas created by the True North Strong and Free Inquiry Society dating from 1986 - 1996. The fonds also includes 13 audio cassette recordings of the proceedings of The True North Strong and Free? A Public Inquiry into Canadian Defense Policy and Nuclear Army dating from 1986.
