              The fonds consists of photograph albums containing over 300 photographs from Bert and Alex Woodcock’s time spent on the traplines, and includes images from Edson, Mountain Park, Brule, Little Smoky, Buck Lake, Berland River, and Tony River, of mountain views, rivers, log cabins, fish, furs and pelts, snowshoes and snowshoeing, horses, dogs and dog sleds, and animals (live and furs) such as deer, moose, bears, caribou, lynx, weasels, wolf, coyotes, and skunks. One album also includes images of family and friends from after their time spent on the traplines. The fonds also includes a hand drawn map of the area around Little Smoky River where Bert and Alex trapped.

              The fonds consists of images of scenes in Alberta acquired by Ian Paterson including Big Island on the North Saskatchewan in 1926, Athabasca Landing Ferry in 1926, the Peace River Highway in 1931, a ferry on the North Saskatchewan River at Strawberry Creek in 1931, the Town of Athabasca in 1932, the Ghost River Dam in 1938, and the Calgary-Edmonton Highway near Bowden in 1938.

              The fonds also contains copies of photographic postcards acquired by Ian Paterson dating from the early part of the 20th century. Kennedy informing him that the Edson Sub-Agency would not open, dated May 12, 1922.

              This collection includes a variety of maps of Canada and North America, and includes maps of North America (1847) with the Alaskan panhandle touching Russia, North America (1861) with details from the Franklin Expedition, and the Prairie Provinces (1875) with limits of the “Prairie Land” and “True Forest,” (PR1982.0079).

              The collection also includes a map of Edinburg and London (1908) (accession PR1982.0152). PR1983.0139 includes four maps from between 1782 and 1925 and PR1984.0229 includes six maps from between 1776 and 1882, focusing on British Columbia, North America, and the Franklin Expedition. PR1985.0383 holds maps from between 1779 and 1912, with maps of the world, North America, and Edson, Alberta.

The photographs were borrowed by Toni Ross from various photographers, including Charles Lee, and they depict various people, views, buildings, machinery and accidents in mining towns such as Edson, Luscar, Cadomin and Mountain Park, Alberta. The collection also includes captions for the photographs and a book of ration coupons, likely from the 1940s.
