          The fonds consists of records for ACCESS TV programs and series over the course of the station's history, including records transferred from the publicly-owned Alberta Educational Communications Corporation when ACCESS TV was privatized. There are audiovisual records as well as textual records that consist of educational material designed to complement the educational programming. There are also microfiche that contain scans of production files for nearly 300 ACCESS TV productions.

          The fonds consists of the records of the Alberta Educational Communications Corporation, which operated ACCESS TV from its establishment in 1973 until the television channel was privatized in 1995. The files include the records of:

          • the President and Chief Executive Officer, such as policies, procedures, correspondence, minutes of meetings, and other records pertaining to the Corporation's Board of Directors, the Alberta Educational Communications Authority, day to day operations, programs, programming and other activities;

          • the Legal Department, including contracts, agreements, policies, regulations, opinions, decisions, and rulings; and

          • the Production Department, comprising completed productions (including dramatized recordings of famous Alberta law cases heard over CKUA) as well as project case files containing budgets, correspondence, scripts, and other related records.

          The collection consists of two Alberta School Broadcast songbooks: "Sing and Play" from 1954 -1955, by Jane McIlrena and "Music Makers" from 1960 - 1961 by Hazel Robinson. The collection also contains 33 transcription discs created for Alberta School Broadcasts featuring music and narrated books such as Ivanhoe. The discs also include broadcasts featuring information on explorers of the Northwest Territories including David Thompson, James Cook, Henry Kelsey, Samuel Hearne, and Anthony Henday. The transcription discs date from 1948 to 1949. The audio cassettes consist of several episodes from the following series: World of Today, Alberta at Work, We Live in Alberta, Alberta Album, Adventure Time, and Pioneer Communities. These episodes likely date from the 1970s. There are also photographs of recording sessions.

          The series consists of records related to the development of educational television and radio programs by the department in conjunction with the Alberta Educational Communications Corporation (ACCESS-TV) and its successors. The files include policies and procedures; correspondence; newsletters; budgets and other financial records; reports and studies; minutes of ACCESS Board and committee meetings, as well as case files of individual programs, including letters, proposals, scripts, meeting materials and evaluations.

          The fonds consists of publications created by the Alberta Education's Correspondence School Branch including curriculum lesson plans on the topics of printing, arithmetic, phonics, social studies, art, science, social activities, and health for use in grades 1 through 8 dating from 1949. The fonds also includes a booklet documenting the history of the Correspondence School Branch dating from 1949.
