    Biographical history

    Ernest Kent was born in Derbyshire, England in 1889. He served with the 72nd Seaforth Highlanders in World War I. In 1925, Ernest Kent worked for New Method Laundry Limited (Ltd.) in Edmonton, Alberta. He later moved to North Burnaby, British Columbia.

    He married Lucy Wright (1889-1971) in Regina, Sasaktchewan in 1909, and together they had two children: Audrey (Macaulay) and Gwen (Marteinsson) (1920-2012). He died in North Burnaby in 1971.

    The fonds consists of two photographs of the staff and horse-drawn delivery trucks of New Method Laundry Ltd. in Edmonton, Alberta.

    Gwen Marteinsson, Ernest Kent’s daughter deposited the records in the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1985.
