    Notice biographique

    Giles Harwin "Harry" Clark was born in Prescott, Ontario in 1889. He fought overseas during the First World War, serving with Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI). He graduated from the University of Alberta and taught initially at Namao but later at other Edmonton schools. After retiring from teaching, he worked for the Edmonton Journal as a proofreader. He also served on the board of the Edmonton Art Club as well as the local branches of the Canadian Cancer Society.

    He married Jessie Catherine Stewart (1891-1978) in Edmonton in 1918, and together they had two children: Margaret (Roberts) and Joan (Hamilton, then Eaton).

    He died in Edmonton in 1977.

    The fonds consists of a copy of a sketch by Giles H. Clark entitled "Headwaters of North Saskatchewan".

    In 1972, Karl Kaesekamp, an employee of the Provincial Archives of Alberta, donated the material to the Provincial Archives of Alberta. The copy had been acquired from Mrs. Owen of Edmonton.
