    Biographical history

Gustav Magnus Eriksson was born in Kansas in 1885. Ten years later, his family moved to Minnesota.

Gustav left the United States in 1915, accompanying his sister, Frida, and her husband, and Joshua Anderson, to Alberta. Gustav's brother, Axel, had come to Alberta in 1902, and purchased land for Gustav near Holden, Alberta. Gustav traded this land with Oscar Grue for land north of Czar, Alberta.

In February 1919, he married Gerda Hanson, whom he had met at a Lutheran Church Young People's Convention. Gerda was born in Wilhelmina, Sweden in 1896, and had immigrated to the East Hay Lakes District of Alberta with her family in 1905. Her parents had both died in 1907, and she was raised by the Waldums, a Norwegian family. Gerda's and Gustav's children were Louise (Palm) (1920-2013), Luther (1924-1986), and Vincent (1931-2022).

Predeceased by his wife in 1960, Gustav died in Camrose, Alberta on April 1, 1969.
