    Biographical history

    Born in Edmonton, Hugh Patrick (Pat) Macdonald studied law at the University of Alberta, graduating in 1952. Pat was a barrister and solicitor with the firms Williams and Macdonald, Macdonald and Dean and Macdonald, Illsley and Horrocks. In retirement, he served on the boards of a variety of community organizations.

    He married Elizabeth Manning (1917-2004) on September 7, 1948 in Edmonton, Alberta, and together they had four children: Mary Catherine (Loney), Paul, Anne (Elliot), and Sheila. He died in Edmonton in 2012.

    The fonds consists of programs for the Edmonton Mendelssohn Choir, the annual competition of the Alberta Musical Festival Association, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, the Women’s Musical Club of Edmonton, the Dramatic Society of the University of Alberta, a recital for Viggo Kihl and the University of Alberta Musical Club and a ticket for the Western Gentlemen Club Dance at Acacia Hall.
