Collection also includes plans and maps depicting various areas in Edmonton, Alberta that are serviced by transit and railroad companies. Collection also includes photographs that depict the interior and renovations of a street-car, and various railroad construction crews and equipment.

There is also a photograph of the last remaining Northern Alberta Railways engine being removed from the Cromdale Barns to the Alberta Railway Museum site by the Alberta Pioneer Railway Association on 12 October 1975. This was the last APRA engine housed at the Cromdale Barns and it is still part of the APRA holdings on display at the Alberta Railway Museum.

Russell Patrick in 1956 that was assigned to the Advertising Unit of the Publicity Bureau in April 1957 and continued until approximately 1964. The files include recorded interviews, memorabilia from individuals being interviewed, photographs, as well as correspondence regarding interviews.

The series also includes recordings of a meeting of the Southern Alberta Pioneers and Old Timers Association in 1957 as well as the opening ceremonies of the Fort Macleod Museum in 1959.

The collection also contains 33 transcription discs created for Alberta School Broadcasts featuring music and narrated books such as Ivanhoe. The discs also include broadcasts featuring information on explorers of the Northwest Territories including David Thompson, James Cook, Henry Kelsey, Samuel Hearne, and Anthony Henday. The transcription discs date from 1948 to 1949. The audio cassettes consist of several episodes from the following series: World of Today, Alberta at Work, We Live in Alberta, Alberta Album, Adventure Time, and Pioneer Communities. These episodes likely date from the 1970s. There are also photographs of recording sessions.

The fonds consists of the records created by both the Civil Service Association and the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees from the inception of the CSA in 1919 to its present day incarnation. The fonds is made up of minutes of meetings, bulletins, labour relations files, negotiations, classification appeals, and affiliations relating to the running of AUPE as a whole and to individual branch operations. The fonds also contains material relating to constitutional matters and by-laws, administration, membership services, committees, publicity and annual conventions of both the CSA and AUPE. The fonds is divided into the Civil Service Association sous-fonds and the following series: labour relations; classification appeals; negotiations; CSA material and; public affairs.

There are also scrapbooks containing clippings related to AUPE activities throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including scrapbooks devoted to the Health Care Employees Union of Alberta, a union that briefly splintered from AUPE in the 1980s before reintegrating back into AUPE. There is also a 1918 copy of the Constitution and Guidelines of the Brotherhood of Dominion Express Employees.

The photographs and negatives included in the scrapbooks depict events such as AUPE training sessions, demonstrations, bargaining and arbitration sessions, staff members, and conventions. There is also a framed portrait of W.T. Aiken, the first president of the Civil Service Association of Alberta, the predecessor organization to AUPE.

Lost in Another World is a short film project created by students at the Alberta School for the Deaf with the assistance of Alex and other Edmonton-based filmmakers such as Lorna Thomas and Karen Wall. In addition to the edited version of Lost in Another World, there are also two reels of elements from the same project.

Joe’s films include The Conversation (a short film about a night in the life of two couples who have just met) and Before the Last War (an experimental film about nuclear war).

Fonds consists of Rutherford’s personal and business records, particularly records created in his capacity as a lawyer and as a politician. These records include political papers, financial records, ordinances, proceedings, policies, reports, publications, personal records, photographs, diplomas, newspapers and newspaper clippings. Also included in this fonds are a newspaper clipping and photograph dated after Rutherford’s death. These two items were interfiled with Rutherford’s papers when they were deposited in the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1975. They probably belonged to a member of Rutherford’s family and so were maintained within accession PR1975.0518.

The fonds contains 14 negatives of “Indian Days” at Fort Macleod in 1919-1920, which show numerous people in uniform (soldiers and NWMP) and in various styles of Indigenous regalia. There are also five undated negatives of military personnel and aircraft and one undated negative of the Prince of Wales Hotel under construction in Waterton Park (likely 1927). All of the negatives were taken by Alexander Cochrane Wright.

The collection also includes an envelope for a 1931 photo order from McDermid Drug Co. Limited (of Calgary, Alberta), and a photograph of the attendees of the NWMP Veterans’ Annual Banquet, held in Calgary, AB in 1925. The banquet took place in the Hudson Bay Company store dining room. This photograph was taken by Collins & Gillies.

The photographic records in the fonds include photographs, negatives, and slides from members of the Alfrey family, including Edward and Winnifred Peterson and of earlier ancestors of the family. There are many photographs from Rita’s brother, Eric Peterson. These photographs depict family and friends, property, and his vacations. Many of the photographs have not been labeled, making identification difficult.

There are multiple textual records from Winnifred Peterson, including copies of her self-published biography and poetry books. The records also include draft and work copies of the chapters and poems included in her books, as well as hand-written stories and reminiscences that were considered for the books.

The fonds also contain scrapbooks from Dar Alfrey’s time with the Edmonton Rotary Club, which contain many textual and photographic records. Other textual records include a Golden Jubilee Alberta award given to Bernard Alfrey, the wedding certificate of Bernard and Martha, hairdressing and beauty culture certificates given to Lucy Jean Moe Brunner, and teaching records of Martha Alfrey.

Also included are nine colour, silent 8mm films of the Alfrey family's home movies filmed by the father, Dar Alfrey. Subjects include views of Alberta communities such as Carstairs, Edmonton, Wetaskiwin, Banff, Medicine Hat, Taber, Calgary, Claresholm, and Jasper. They also include such subjects as the sugar beet factory in Taber, the Calgary Zoo, Storyland Valley Zoo in Edmonton, the Al Oeming Game Farm, and Alfrey family events such as birthdays, weddings, vacations and Christmas. These films start from the time the family was living in Bow Island in 1957 and end after their return to Edmonton in 1968.
