The fonds consists of records created and received by Gordon Taylor in his personal life and during his career as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, cabinet minister, and Member of Parliament. The fonds includes the following series:

• Constituency and personal records;
• Minister of Highway records, including records received by Taylor from his predecessors Vernor Smith and Duncan MacMillan as Minister of Railways and Telephones that Taylor received upon taking office;
• Camp Gordon records; and
• Member of Parliament records.

The fonds consists of records related to John Callaghan's involvement in Alberta railways and includes minimal correspondence, a biographical pamphlet, and images of John Callaghan, trains (including Northern Alberta Railways and others), employees, horse and wagons, bridges, washed out tracks at Slave Lake, flooding at Waterways, Grande Prairie main street (1914), Premier Greenfield, Minister V.W. Smith and others examining oil sands along the Athabasca River, and postcards with images of last spike, the Lethbridge viaduct and a Fort McMurray souvenir.

The fonds includes one file regarding the Peace River Exploration Party that contains correspondence from Vernor Smith, Fallow's predecessor, and Gordon Taylor, Fallow's successor, as Minister of Railways and Telephones.

Fonds consists of photographs depicting various people, buildings and events in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta including the Legislature buildings, Calgary Stampede, parades, a Sarcee reserve, the Western Ski Championship, an ice carnival, a reception for Lord Byng, Royal North West Mounted Police officers, First Nations men and women, and street views. Fonds also includes a photograph and obituary for Major Leon Charles Eckenfelder, a memorial article about Vernor W. Smith, and books of poetry written by W.V. Newson.
