            The collection consists of images of two men and a child in an unidentified location circa 1930; an envelope for the business of R.A. Bird, a photographer in Bassano, Alberta circa 1920; a program for the Annual Banquet of the Timber Construction Staff, Canadian Pacific Irrigation Project, held at the Berkely Hotel in Bassano, Alberta dating from 1913.

            Fonds consists of copied photographs dating circa (ca.) 1909 to ca. 1932 which mainly depict the construction of the Bassano Dam and other irrigations works in the Headworks of the Eastern Section of the CPR Irrigation District near Bassano, Alberta, and includes images of horse teams, construction workers, timber pylons, main canal construction, railway cars and bridges, various large construction machinery such as excavating machines, bucket dredges and steam shovels, and the interior of the Bassano Dam. Fonds also includes photographs depicting various animals, buildings, farms and agricultural machinery in the Brooks and Bassano, Alberta area, including cows, wheat, alfalpha, flax, and sugar beet fields, wheat stooks, four horse reapers and seeders, barns, houses and other buildings, and the CPR Supply Farm No. 1. Fonds also includes images depicting a diversion weir in Calgary, Alberta, the Red Deer, Alberta badlands, and plans for a cattle self-feeder.

            The series consists of construction and maintenance engineering records from the Department of Transportation and its predecessors. The records include operating procedures; statistical tables; project files; construction photographs; daily journals belonging to engineers; microfilmed plans; a register of applications to construct irrigation projects across highways and road allowances; and road maps and progress plans of primary and secondary highways.
