    Biographical history

    Born in 1917, Joseph (Joe) Bohonos married Jean May McMahon (1922-1978); they had two children, Larry and Daryl. In about 1949, he opened the Premier Cycle and Sport Shop in Edmonton, Alberta which was incorporated in 1968. He operated the business until his retirement in the early 1980s.

    He died in Edmonton in 2014.

    The fonds consists of images of the Edmonton Cycle Club, originally dating 1935 and 1936; images include bicycles, cyclists, houses and stores.

    Immediate source of acquisition

    Marian Brown of the Provincial Museum of Alberta on behalf of Joe Bohonos allowed the records to be copied by the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1987. The originals were returned to Ms. Brown.
