    Biographical history

    John Veillette was a fine arts student at the University of British Columbia in the early 1970s. He was a woodworker who worked with his partner, Gary White (1940-2006) , on the restoration of Indigenous religious sites in British Columbia. He later worked as Collections Manager of the British Columbia Museum in Victoria, British Columbia. His hobbies included collecting antiques.

    John Veillette purchased the material comprising this fonds from various dealers and thrift shops in Victoria, BC.

    Scope and content

    The fonds reflects John Veillette's interest in history and consists of a photograph of Chipewyan, Alberta and a photograph of Wilf Brown in Chipewyan, Alberta dating from 1955. The fonds also includes a photograph and a negative featuring the Central Canadian Greyhound Bus-lines dating from 1935.
