    Biographical history

    Léo Cloutier was born January 5, 1920 in Pickardville, Alberta; he was the son of Ephraïm and Emma (Côté) Cloutier. The family moved to Morinville in 1926; they remained there for eight years and then moved to Plamondon for four years and then to Lac La Biche. At the age of twenty-five, Léo married Mary Schaub and they moved to Lac La Biche Mission. While a farmer, Léo also worked for the Oblate fathers at the Mission. Léo’s and Mary’s children include: Cécile, Ida, Léa, Gérard, Annette, Simone (born and died 1957), and Roméo.

    Custodial history

    Léo Cloutier loaned the records to the Lac La Biche Mission Historical Society.

    Scope and content

    The fonds consists of images, possibly dating from the 1930s, of the interior altar at Lac La Biche Mission and an aerial view of the Mission.

    Immediate source of acquisition

    Tom Maccagno, president of the Lac La Biche Mission Historical Society, and Lorraine Umble, administrative assistant for the Society, allowed the records to be copied by the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1992. The records were returned to the Lac La Biche Mission Historical Society.
