The fonds consists of an undergraduate thesis written by Alan Dakin entitled A Study of Log Construction in the Vicinity of Carrot Creek, Alberta. The thesis contains three binders featuring photographs of log constructions with detailed descriptions of building techniques as well as the names of the builders and dates of construction.

Fonds consists of photographic and mechanically produced postcards, photographs, negatives, and a photograph album depicting various images including Albert Orpwood, the Calgary Normal School, construction, railroads, log cabins, oil wells, women, children, soldiers, agricultural machinery, farm scenes, buildings, cars, bridges, houses, barns, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) officers, street views, airplanes, snow blowers, churches, a sports team, and a wedding. Fonds also includes booklet, containing a commercial map of Alberta and historical sketch, produced by CJCA Broadcasting Station.

Fonds consists of copied photographs which date from 1912-1923, predominantly 1912-1914, that depict various people, buildings, and views in Athabasca Landing, House River, Vermilion, and Edmonton, Alberta, including boats, railway cars, sawmills, oil field equipment, machinery and workers, log cabins, the Vermilion Baptist church, road and building construction, and Kelsey family members. Fonds also includes two postcards and a copied newspaper clipping about a type of crude oil engine.

The collection consists of images of tenting, a log cabin, canoes, boats, seaplanes and airplanes.

Fonds consists of copied photographs that date from circa (ca.) 1848-1922, predominantly 1901-1922, that depict various people, buildings, and views in Chipewyn, Sawridge, Slave Lake, Fort Vermilion, Athabasca Landing, and Fort McMurray, Alberta including a Royal North West Mounted Police (RNWMP) officer, paddle steamers, Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) boats, a government telegraph office, log cabins, street views, a sawmill, a cemetery, school teachers, and missionaries.

The fonds consists of images copied from a photograph album and includes images, originally dating from circa (ca.) 1909 to 1913, of Edmonton scenes including streets, construction of the Legislative buildings, residential streets, houses, bridges, and images of houses in and views of Lamont, a Ukrainian homestead near Innisfree and the Bremner Post Office.

The fonds consists of correspondence between Elsie Gordon and Catherine and Ward Dick in 1961 regarding the existence and history of pioneer cabins on their land on Willow Creek at the south end of Chain Lakes, Alberta. The fonds also includes an aerial photograph of the Chain Lakes region dating from ca. 1961.

Fonds consists of copied photographs dating [19-] that depict log buildings in the Amber Valley, Alberta area.

The fonds consists of images capturing Lacombe in the early part of the 20th century and materials pertaining to the Day family in Lacombe. The images depict the first log cabin owned by the Day family, Barnet Ave, the H.A. Day General Merchant's Store, the first town council, Main Street, the Lacombe Women's Basketball Team, the Lacombe School, the Lacombe High School Graduating Class (1910), players and coaching staff of the Lacombe Hockey Team, the Temperance Colonization Society, a lake, individuals in Lacombe, 10 photographic postcard addressed to various members of the Day family.

The fond also includes store ledgers from the H.A. Day General Store dating from 1901 - 1903 as well as several promotional booklets pertaining to the development of Edmonton and Lacombe.

The fonds consists of images originally dating from 1913 to 1936, and includes images of John Harold’s log cabin, the Edmonton High School Association Football Club winners of the Rutherford Cup (1913), the Namao’s Ladies’ hardball team at Morinville (1920s), attendees of a Municipal Convention in Calgary (1936) and a threshing machine.

The fonds consists of copied photographs dating circa (ca.) 1907-1930 that depict scenes on the homestead of Gilbert and Fred Gaunt located near Moyerton, Alberta at NE Section 20, Township 47, Range 3, West of the 4th Meridian (NE20-47-3-W4) including the exterior and interior of a log cabin, construction of a barn, cattle, views of Paradise Valley, Alberta, Mrs. Joe Mayo, and members of the Gaunt family.

Fonds consists of photographs and photographic postcards depicting various people, buildings, bridges and views in Alberta and British Columbia, including many scenes along the Canadian Pacific Railway line, and includes Columbia River and highway, Tooth Rock, Connaught Tunnel, Yoho Valley, Kicking Horse Canyon, Morraine Lake, Lake Louise, Cascade Mountain, Castle Mountain, Mount (Mt.) Rundle, Mt. Temple, Bow Valley, and Douglas Street in Victoria, British Columbia, and Banff Hot Springs Hotel. Fonds also includes images of canoes, automobiles, buffalo, mountain goats, log cabins, trains, and William S. Gavitt with a moose.

The collection consists of a letter from Arthur Meighen to Reuben West from 1911, and a copied newspaper article about Roy Brown’s discovery of the cabin and its contents.

The fonds consists of a records created and used by Walter T. Hillman including a photograph of a pioneer cabin and tent; a photograph of the Edmonton Exhibition; military certificates and registrations issued to Walter T. Hillman dating from 1917 - 1918; a photograph of the interior of the D.H. Shaw Cigar Building in Edmonton dating from [1925]; invitations, Canadian National Magazine; World War II memorabilia including a gasoline ration booklet issued to Walter T. Hillman dating from 1945, and a liquor permit issued to Walter T. Hillman issued in 1946.
