    Marjorie Sayers was born in Lethbridge, Alberta; she was the daughter of John (Jack) Richard (1884-1972) and Ellen (Nellie) May (Thurlow) Sayers (1883-1972). Marjorie married George E.O. Scott in Lethbridge in 1946.

    George, born in Innisfail, Alberta in 1918, was the son of George William (1874-1964) and Helen Christena (McAllister) Scott. George (Sr.) and Helen had met at the Agricultural College in Guelph, Ontario. George (Sr.) managed the Innisfail creamery from 1902 until becoming part of the Government Dairy Office in 1906; he began field work in 1909. From 1913 to 1921, he taught at the Vermilion School of Agriculture, as well as at the University of Alberta. George (Sr.) died April 9, 1964.

    George (Jr.) and Marjorie had two children, Laura Mae (Kilgour) and George Richard. George (Jr.) died in 1984. Marjorie died in Edmonton in 2012.

    The fonds consists of photographs relating to the dairy industry in Alberta and includes images of dairy conventions, groups standing in front of train cars, the Valhalla Creamery, G.W. Scott instructing students of the Olds School of Agriculture, and G.W. Scott conducting an experiment.

    Darlene Danbrook, office manager of the Dairy Production Board, on behalf of Marjorie Scott, deposited the records in the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1989.
