    Administrative history

Metropolitan Methodist Church was established in 1892 as South Edmonton Methodist Church. A new church building was constructed in 1908 and it appears that the church was renamed Metropolitan Methodist Church at the time of dedication.

Metropolitan Methodist Church existed until 1925 when it joined The United Church of Canada, a union of the Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational denominations. The congregation was reconstituted as Metropolitan United Church.

In 1972, Metropolitan United Church amalgamated with Knox United Church to form Knox-Metropolitan United Church. The congregation is situated at 109 Street and 84 Avenue, the former location of Metropolitan United Church, and is part of the Edmonton Presbytery.
