    Administrative history

    The Millet U.F.A. Co-operative Association, Limited was incorporated under the Co-operative Associations Act on April 1, 1919.

    The Association was to deal in hardware, twine, lumber, building materials, coal, machinery, and generally any and all commodities required or used by farmers; to carry on the business of marketing and selling livestock and farm produce; to engage in the business of general merchant; to act as agents for any persons, firms or corporations engaged in the business of fire, life or hail insurance, or the business of loans and investments; to hold, buy, sell or otherwise deal in real estate or other property; and generally to do such acts and deeds necessary for the carrying on of the Association's business.

    The Association's head office was located in Millet, Alberta.

    Custodial history

    Mrs. Marilyn Nakonechny discovered the records in her attic, a house purchased in 1987, which is believed to be the former Howes/Fleming residence. Thomas H. Howes was a director of the Millet U.F.A. Co-operative Association Limited.

    Scope and content

    The fonds consists of the records of the Millet U.F.A. Co-operative Association Limited, and includes minutes, financial statements, audit records, correspondence, correspondence, newspaper clippings. Within the minutes, there can be found a membership card of Mrs. Howard Marr for the Methodist Church, for year ending May 1924.
