            The fonds consists of films and slides that were created by Wolfgang Witschl and document travel, hobbies, family activities, and community events. Activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, road trips, and family celebrations are all captured. Witschl also documented various wildlife in natural settings across Alberta, including bighorn sheep, bears, salmon, elk, moose, and caribou.

            Public events documented by Witschl include Edmonton's Heritage Days and Klondike Days, the closing of the 1978 Commonwealth Games in Edmonton, marches and parades through Edmonton's downtown, a pageant and powwow to mark the 100th anniversary of the signing of Treaty 6 at Dried Meat Hill (Ka-Ke-Wuk), the christening of Mount Michener (which features Peter Lougheed and Rt. Hon. Daniel Roland Michener), and 1967 centennial celebrations in Edmonton (featuring Lester Pearson and Edmonton mayor Vincent Dantzer).

            The collection consists of a photograph of Billy Day of Athabasca Landing driving a team of moose at the Edmonton Exhibition in 1911 and a Christmas card dating from 1912. The collection also includes 12 photographic postcards dating from the 1920s featuring elk in Wainwright Park, men and a dog team, Mt. Robson in Mt. Robson Park, Mt. Edith Cavell in Jasper National Park, buffalo in Wainwright Park, Maligne Canyon in Jasper National Park, Chateau Lake Louise in Lake Louise, and Jasper Park Lodge.

            The fonds consists of images, originally dating ca. 1930 to ca. 1940, of road construction and camps near Irma, Mercoal and Coalspur Alberta, bridge construction over the McLeod River, horses pulling logs at Whitecourt and Fort McMurray, Alberta, strip mining near Edson, Alberta, the Edson train station, a moose calf at Coalspur, students of Clyde school (1933) and tractors, combines and harvesting.

            The fonds consists of images of a team of moose at the Edmonton Exhibition, the first train to come to Edmonton, the provincial inauguration ceremonies where Edmonton was designated the capital and reputedly the first frame house in Edmonton.
