              The collection includes newsletters, membership lists, minutes, obituaries, remembrance cards, copies of historic photographs, photographs from Coal Branch reunions, and newspaper clippings. The records were created by the Alberta Coal Branch Club and document their club events.

              The collection also contains The Cadomin Project, a teaching unit developed by Jim Shaw, Director of the Educational Media Services at the University of Alberta. The teaching unit was created as part of a series of units on small towns across Alberta and used photos, slides, recordings, and other media to teach in elementary and secondary schools.

              This unit consists of slides and copies of photographs of subjects in Cadomin in the Alberta Coal Branch, as well as supplemental information, all with a focus on the social history of Cadomin.

              There is also a scrapbook that includes clippings related to the Coal Branch and its residents, correspondence with other former Coal Branch residents, membership lists of Coal Branch unions, obituaries of Coal Branch residents, and short biographical sketches of Coal Branch residents.

The oral histories were recorded by den Otter during the course of research to complete his thesis for a Master of Arts degree in history at the University of Alberta.               The fonds consists of photograph albums containing over 300 photographs from Bert and Alex Woodcock’s time spent on the traplines, and includes images from Edson, Mountain Park, Brule, Little Smoky, Buck Lake, Berland River, and Tony River, of mountain views, rivers, log cabins, fish, furs and pelts, snowshoes and snowshoeing, horses, dogs and dog sleds, and animals (live and furs) such as deer, moose, bears, caribou, lynx, weasels, wolf, coyotes, and skunks. One album also includes images of family and friends from after their time spent on the traplines. The fonds also includes a hand drawn map of the area around Little Smoky River where Bert and Alex trapped.

              The fonds consists of material reflecting Robert Bruce Davidson's interest and professional occupation in the study of Alberta's history and includes scripts created for a radio program pertaining to pioneers of the Peace River District by the Great Western Garment Company entitled "Pionera" written in 1960 and 1961; three copies of photographs of Alberta scenes including a view of a ferry crossing a river, the Mountain Park rail station, and the Mountain Park town site dating from the early part of the 20th century; and a pamphlet and program from the Edmonton Topographical Union No. 604 50th Anniversary in 1957.

              Collection consists of copied photographs dating circa (ca.) 1900-1955 that were collected for use in her book, Oh! The Coal Branch. The photographs were borrowed by Toni Ross from various photographers, including Charles Lee, and they depict various people, views, buildings, machinery and accidents in mining towns such as Edson, Luscar, Cadomin and Mountain Park, Alberta. The collection also includes captions for the photographs and a book of ration coupons, likely from the 1940s.

              The fonds is composed of textual material, blueprints, and photographic records from the operations and history of Westmoreland and its predecessors in Alberta. The records contain a wide variety of textual records from these companies, such as balance and financial sheets, shareholder registers, supply and other agreements, correspondence to and from company officials, reports and minutes from various organizations, shares certificates, maps, mine and area plans, and cross sections related to mines north of Jasper National Park, south of the North Saskatchewan River, and several other locations in Alberta.

              The photographic records include stereoscopic aerial photographs, photographs of mine employees, event photographs, and mine and landscape photography.
