Administrative history
The Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (C.C.F.) was formed in 1932, and promoted a ten-point program for economic changes to reduce poverty. A national movement, the C.C.F. also ran candidates in provincial elections. Local clubs and constituency associations were established and nominated candidates to run in several provincial and federal ridings.
The Peace River Federal Constituency Association of the C.C.F. was organized on July 25, 1939 for the federal riding of Peace River. The Peace River Federal Constituency Association of the C.C.F. was also known as the C.C.F. Federal Constituency Association of Peace River, the Peace River Federal Constituency C.C.F. Association and the C.C.F Association of the Federal Constituency of Peace River.
In 1961, the C.C.F. party became the New Democratic Party (N.D.P.); the Alberta N.D.P. was organized at a convention held in January 1962 and C.C.F. Constituency associations completed their business.
