This sub-series consists of records created or acquired in the course of the administration of radio stations established or maintained by the Oblates in the Province of Alberta-Saskatchewan. The radio stations allowed for access to the various Francophone communities served by the Congregation in the west. As with publishing companies and newspapers, the Oblates of Mary Immaculate collaborated with the Association canadienne-française de l'Alberta (ACFA), and in 1944, the Radio Committee of the ACFA and Edmonton citizens started the fundraising for a completely French radio station in Alberta.

Radio-Edmonton Ltd. was incorporated on September 25, 1947, with Bishop Ubald Langlois, Leon Omer Beauchemin, Louis Phillippe Mousseau and Alphonse Brosseau as initial directors. Under the auspices of the ACFA and the Oblates, its objective was to obtain the license for a radio frequency and to inaugurate and operate a French radio station. The license was granted on May 12, 1948 to establish a private commercial broadcasting station at Edmonton, Alberta, with a power of 5000 watts on the channel 680 KC. The first program of Radio CHFA (680AM) was broadcast November 20, 1949 from Garneau Theatre, Edmonton. The station was affiliated with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) French language network in the west. CHFA continued to broadcast to predominantly Francophone communities under the auspices of Radio-Edmonton Ltd. and ACFA until April 1, 1974, when the radio station was sold to CBC / Société Radio-Canada.

This sub-series consists of plans for the Edmonton radio station CHFA and the office building of La Survivance, brochures, campaign subscriptions, administrative papers, and correspondence.

The records include a number of religious themes and document the personal thoughts and viewpoints of a number of Oblates and highlight First Nations cultures and languages. There is a vast wealth of their written research in the Oblate fonds as well, related to genealogies, grammars and published stories and other writings.
