    Administrative history

    The Rattle-Snake Mutual Telephone Company was incorporated under the Companies Act on April 8, 1958 and served the area around Bow Island and Whitla, Alberta. It is unknown when the company was taken over by Alberta Government Telephones (AGT), but the company was dissolved in 1970.

    Immediate source of acquisition

    Mr. Gordon Blanchard deposited these records to the Provincial Archives of Alberta in 1973. Mr. Blanchard was the Secretary-Treasurer of the Rattle-Snake Mutual Telephone Company.


    One rubber stamp belonging to the Rattle-Snake Mutual Telephone Company has been removed and transferred to the Human History Division of the Provincial Museum of Alberta.
