    Biographical history

    Marchmont Ing was born in 1870 in England and emigrated to the U.S. as a teenager. He worked a variety of jobs before moving to Edmonton in 1902. After attending McDougall Methodist Church, he was received by the Methodist church on trial in 1904 and received special ordination in 1905. He first worked at Indigenous missions in Whitefish Lake and Morley (1904-1910). He completed theology studies at Alberta College, Edmonton in 1911 and was received into full connection. He then served congregations in Springbank, South Calgary, Daysland and Carstairs. He retired to Calgary in 1932 and died in 1947.
