The fonds consists primarily of photographs of several generations and branches of the family (Golby, Hansdatter, Madson, Mushka, and Widrick), documenting their history and everyday life and activities, including: weddings, anniversaries, births, deaths, farm life, community life, school and university, work and travel, family reunions and holidays. There are also photos of specific Alberta geographic areas and community landmarks over various time periods, including several photos of Edmonton landmark buildings in the early 1900s, and photos of the Five Lakes School and Mid-Pembina Hall.
The fonds also consists of textual records including family histories and trees, school and university records, teaching records, homesteading and farm records, obituaries and funeral programs, wedding invitations and announcements, eulogies, autobiographies, and correspondence.
