    Biographical history

In 1949, Henry Sharun and his wife Maria (nee Budinski) purchased the Chipman Egg Grading Station. Henry received his egg grading training in Spruce Grove, Alberta and subsequently trained his wife. During the business' peak in the 1960's, the Sharuns hand graded up to 1800 dozen eggs a day by hand. In 1984, the Sharuns closed the egg grading station and it appears to have been the last rural egg grading station in northern Alberta. From 1965 to 1972, the Sharuns also operated a poultry farm on the outskirts of Chipman, Alberta.

Henry Sharun was the Chairman of the Lamont School Board in 1960 as well as serving as the Mayor of Chipman for many years throughout the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's. Henry Sharun was also involved in the Social Credit Party.
