    Biographical history

    Thomas Edward "Ted" Morgan was born in Edmonton in 1916, the son of Thomas Henry "T.H." (1890-1940) and Alice Morgan (1891-1959). After working with several art and photography businesses, his father established T.H. Morgan Art Limited, an art dealing and photo finishing company, in Edmonton in 1931. He worked in the business and took it over with his brother after his father's death in 1940. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) during the Second World War.

    He married Florence K. Ramsbottom in Edmonton in 1941, and together they had three children: Margaret Lynn (Obriss), Wendy (Eckley), and Teddi (Chateauvert).

    He died in Edmonton in 2009.

    The fonds consists of a photograph featuring the City of Edmonton Intermediate Basketball Champions dating from 1925, a photograph featuring an unidentified high school basketball team dating from the 1920s, and a photograph featuring a military basketball team dating from the 1920s.

    Immediate source of acquisition

    In 1969, T.E. Morgan, manager of T.H. Morgan Art Limited, donated the material to the Provincial Archives of Alberta. T.E. Morgan's relationship with the teams represented in the fonds is unknown.
