    Biographical history

Tom Jones was born circa (ca.) 1887 and his wife was born ca. 1882. They began farming in the Trochu, Alberta area in 1916.

A passing government seed inspector examined Jones' fields in 1931 and advised Jones that he should belong to the Canadian Seed Growers and grow registered seeds. Jones joined the Canadian Seed Growers and began to grow oats and wheat. His first crops were inspected and declared to be a No. 1 registered first generation seed. From that time until 1948 Jones grew No. 1 registered grain wheat oats and No.1 crested wheat grass seed.

Jones sold his farm ca. 1949 and he and his wife retired to Victoria, British Columbia in 1955.
